Objective
To determine the applicant exhibits satisfactory knowledge, risk management, and skills associated with performing an approach solely by reference to instruments with the loss of primary flight control instruments.
Partial Panel Approach
- Use timed / compass turns as required
- Use magnetic compass / turn coordinator / GPS for heading
- Use airspeed / VSI / altimeter for pitch
- Request a "no-gyro" approach if necessary
- Radar approach
- Half standard rate turns
- Zoom in on MFD moving map and keep airplane on magenta line
